Exceptional Opportunity: SANZA Teaching Agency are currently working with a delightful, 2-form entry primary school in Ealing who are seeking a teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a girl in year 1.
The student has a diagnosis of Autism (ASD) and has limited speech, but is developing
The school is located in Acton, with great transport links (District Line and Overground).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual support to the pupil with Autism (ASD) ensuring their safety and well-being
Help implement and follow the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and behaviour management strategies
Facilitate the child's communication and language development through alternative communication methods
Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and adapt activities to meet the pupil's specific needs
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, promoting their social integration with peers
Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, providing regular feedback on the child's progress
Requirements:
Relevant experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) or similar special educational needs
Understanding of pre-verbal communication methods and strategies
Knowledge with challenging behaviour, including behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs
Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
