Overview:

The Assistant Banquet Manager will help the Banquet Manager in supervising the overall operation of the Banquet Department (Group meals, Pantry/kiosk service, Bar service, and event décor/entertainment).

Responsibilities:

Assist the Director of Meetings & Events with administrative and operational support.

Work closely with the Conference Services and Catering Managers to coordinate and plan all events. Maintain a high degree of service and foresight to ensure successful meetings, weddings, and events

Supervise all budgetary functions and maintain records to support budget objectives.

Implement all of the Terranea Resort policies and procedures.

Interview and train staff for key positions within all areas of responsibility to maintain a high level of service and professionalism.

Maintain personnel files in a confidential manner, and deal with confidential information in an appropriate manner.

Ensure accurate client billing systems to maximize highest possible revenue for the Resort.

Handling of evaluation process and the discipline of employees.

Responsible for 90 day forecasting of business activity levels in all departments.

Responsible for the capital plant of all areas. Maintain and update all capital expenditures as needed.

Control expenditures within budgetary guidelines.

Oversee and review all staffing programs within area of responsibility, to ensure maximum guest satisfaction and stay with budgeted guidelines.

Supervise Linen & Uniform Control. Maintain Budgeted guidelines in this area.

Responsible for supervision of Special Events operations and assist in the vacation décor program.

Supervision of Banquet Operations Coordinator and assist in the development of Theme and Entertainment programs to maximize profits for the Resort.

Supervision of Banquets Administrative Assistant and all Banquet Captains and staff. Responsible for all operations of the Banquet Department.

Ensure attendance all meetings as required, including pre-cons, department head, etc.

Maintain open communication within the department and with other operation departments.

Ensure that all fond and back of the house are maintained in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.

Supervise and assist the Assistant Banquet Manager in all duties.

Supervise monthly beverage inventory. Maintain budgeted expenses.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

Respond to any reasonable task assigned by Director of Banquets, Director of Food and Beverage or the Director of Meetings & Events.

Assist the Conference Services Manager in all duties related to the daily operations of the Conference floor.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years working experience in Banquets and Conference Services background

Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role

Strong organizational skills.

Ability to think clearly in an active work environment.

Detail oriented.

Ability to prioritize work.

Ability to maintain a calm and positive demeanor a sometimes stressful work environment.

Compensation:

Base Pay Start Rate: $70,000/ Yr - $75,000 / Yr
