About This Location:

Towne Animal Clinic is a progressive 6-doctor small animal practice needing to add a Veterinarian. We are located in beautiful Loudoun County in Leesburg, Virginia. We are seeking a small animal veterinarian interested in high quality medicine. We encourage constant professional growth and mentorship, and our staff and doctors are dedicated to providing the best possible care. We are a full service, high tech practice - tools include ultrasound, digital x-rays, endoscopy, in-house lab, therapeutic laser, dental suite including digital dental x-ray, and fully equipped surgical suite for both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. Overview:

We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing hospital to provide exceptional care to our patients! You will work alongside other skilled Vet Assistants, support our Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and DVMs in the daily flow of the hospital. Responsibilities / Qualifications:

Position Skills:

Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests

Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner

Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and/or note any changes of patient’s condition to DVM

Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies

Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations

High quality client communication on patient updates and questions

Position Requirements:

High School diploma or GED certificate 

Flexible schedule including some weekend and vacation shifts

Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling

Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations, and work with others on a team respectfully

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
