Overview:
Background:
Information System (IS) #190 is the official designation EB’s connection to the NNPP Net and is managed and maintained by EB D475. Short and long-term capabilities to support COLUMBIA, SSN(X), CONFORM will require cutting-edge technology (Extended Reality, etc.), model-based system engineering, and more. Also, the network will continue to develop in order to support expanded shipboard availability for data acquisition and testing, EB Facility growth for additional office space and engineering labs.
Position:
The position is for a Project Lead on the D475 NNPP Net Management Team to lead the IS #190 program. The IT Enterprise Architect – IS #190 Program will provide cross-discipline oversight and integration direction to ensure IS #190 is equipped to implement cutting-edge technologies supporting model-based engineering, extended reality, and more for COLUBMIA, SSN(X), CONFORM programs while not only assuring the system’s overall performance and effectiveness but also maintaining defense-in-depth criteria. This position will oversee all facets of the IS #190 including client, server, network, cybersecurity, and budget planning. The position will provide the opportunity to support innovative programs and engage with cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art cybersecurity counter-measures from design and implementation to test and production.
The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that IS #190’s enterprise-wide IT architectural strategy is consistent and compliant with the program mission as well as setting technology environment standards and guidelines.
Successful candidate’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Enterprise Design and Implementation Lead
Define, develop and oversee the execution of the overall architecture strategy and roadmaps for the program
Guide critical architectural decisions and resolve high-impact issues
Ensure implementation alignment across EB established processes and business needs
Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of department-wide policies and procedures
Server Administration Lead
Design, administer and oversee Active Directory Forest/Domain
Windows/Linux server administration and management
Maintain a working knowledge of system functions, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures
Knowledge and understanding of technologies used within the Information System in order to develop IT strategies that meet program needs, future goals, and innovation as appropriate to align with program, business and enterprise needs
Quickly diagnose complex server and application issues and identify areas of improvement
Cybersecurity Guidance and Oversight
Provide guidance to assist with vulnerability management including remediation and monitoring compliance
Manage and assess potential security risks within the organizations’ IT systems
Provide direction to cybersecurity governance for the Information System
Contribute to and guide the development of solutions to ensure security compliance for all systems
Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience
Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
At least 10 years as a system administrator
At least 7 years of enterprise IT architectural experience running complex/ cross-discipline IT projects
Strong presentation and verbal/written communication skills
Strong understanding of cybersecurity solutions
Cross-discipline IT knowledge including Windows, Linux, Client, VMware, PKI, Network Infrastructure and cybersecurity with robust knowledge in at least three areas
Preferred:
Experience in developing strategies / company-wide plans
Skills:
Respected individual with a proven track record of achievement
Excellent project management skills and organizational skills
Motivated, performance driven individual with strong leadership skills
