Director of Plant Operations

Job Overview

As the Director of Plant Operations, you will lead the strategic integration of facilities management with our clients long-term goals. You will oversee the maintenance and enhancement of all infrastructure, ensuring that physical resources from equipment to grounds are optimally managed to support new programs and initiatives. This role is critical in maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant environment for staff, visitors, and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Implement our clients strategic objectives in facilities management, including planning for capital equipment and resources.

Project Management: Schedule and manage equipment installations and capital improvement projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion.

Facilities Maintenance: Oversee the assignment and completion of work orders and preventive maintenance, ensuring the facility remains in top condition.

Safety & Compliance: Serve as the Chapter Leader for Life Safety and Environment of Care under Joint Commission Standards. Act as the Hospital Safety Officer and chair the Safety Committee.

Leadership Communication: Engage regularly with the CEO, CFO, CNO, Associate Administrators, and Department Directors to ensure alignment on facilities-related matters.

Regulatory Oversight: Ensure timely filing of Local, State, and EPA reports, maintaining full compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Energy Management: Manage contracting for natural gas futures and hedging. Lead energy audits and implement cost-saving measures.

Team Development: Mentor and develop staff, fostering leadership skills and a collaborative team environment.

Compliance Assurance: Ensure full compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and professional standards.

Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support our clients mission and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Business, Hospital Administration, or related technical field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in facilities management, preferably within a hospital setting. Engineering and safety knowledge in healthcare is highly desirable.

Certification: CHFM or CBET certification required within 1 year of employment.

Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. In-depth knowledge of OSHA compliance.
