Role & Responsibilities for Tax Investigations Senior Manager:
Work with the Tax Dispute Resolution (TDR) team on HMRC investigations including COP 9, COP 8, Cross Tax, NMW enquiries, and technical disputes.
Collaborate with Partners, Directors, and the tax team to manage HMRC investigations or disclosures.
Assist in preparing investigation and disclosure reports, including calculations, for submission to HMRC.
Liaise directly with clients, contacts, and HMRC, ensuring timely completion of work and attendance at meetings.
Help manage and mentor junior members of the TDR team.
Support senior staff in negotiating settlements with HMRC.
Assist in managing graduate team members, sharing knowledge on HMRC dispute management.
Handle billing and collections for clients within your portfolio.
Contribute to media posts and blogs on relevant tax topics.
Start building a network of professional contacts to generate new business for the team.
Represent the firm at marketing events, stay informed on services offered, and propose new ideas.Skills, Knowledge and Experience
ATT/CTA qualified (or HMRC / overseas equivalent), or relevant work experience.
Report writing and tax computational experience is preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel is preferred.
