Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children's Home

Location: Wellingborough/Raunds

Salary: £36,000 - £38,000 per annum

Contract Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, plus 10 sleep-ins per month (£55 PER SLEEP ON TOP OF SALARY)

Reports To: Registered Home Manager

Job Overview

Nothing But Healthcare is recruiting a Deputy Manager on behalf of a highly regarded client managing a children’s home. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring all operations are aligned with Children’s Homes Regulations and the safeguarding of young people. You will also play a key role in staff management, budgeting, and liaising with external agencies. This role requires participation in the on-call rota to support the home as needed.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee the daily management of the children’s home, ensuring compliance with legislative and contractual requirements.

* Promote the safeguarding and welfare of the young people in line with legal and regulatory frameworks.

* Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to ensure young people receive the necessary support for rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.

* Support, coach, and supervise staff to enhance performance, ensuring care standards, ethical policies, and diversity requirements are met.

* Assist in budget preparation and ensure financial parameters are controlled.

* Monitor changes in legislation related to occupancy and ensure the home meets all enhanced requirements.

* Identify staffing needs, participate in the recruitment and training of staff, and optimise service delivery.

* Foster a positive health and safety culture to meet internal and external standards.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

* A professional social work qualification or QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People).

* A minimum of 1 year of managerial or supervisory experience in a residential care setting.

* At least 1 year of experience working in residential care for children or young people.

* Full, clean driving licence
