Teaching Assistant

Challenging Behaviour Support (SEN School)
Location: Greenwich, South East London
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
Contract Type: Long-term with permanent opportunity
Additional: Free side road Parking, bus routes, DLR and overground transport links.

About the Teaching Assistant Role:

We are looking for committed and resilient Teaching Assistants to join primary and / or secondary SEN schools in Greenwich borough. In this role, you’ll support students with complex behavioural needs, helping them engage with learning and achieve their potential. The school caters to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEMH).

Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one and group support to students, focusing on managing challenging behaviours

* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning plans

* Use your experience to build positive, supportive relationships with students and manage challenging situations effectively

* Foster a safe and structured learning environment, encouraging social and emotional development

* Promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience, acting as a key role model

* Supporting with core subject support across secondary age groups.

About You:

* Experience working with young people from a youth mentor, young offenders, or mental health background is highly desirable

* A strong, empathetic approach to managing challenging behaviours in a school setting

* Ability to commit to full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM) for the long term

* A resilient, calm, and patient attitude, with the ability to adapt to different situations

* Passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people
