Unit Description:
Sodexo is currently Seeking a talented Safety and Training Manager to oversee our safety compliance and training programs at Millard Public Schools.
In partnership with Human Resources and department leaders, this role supports approximately 400 MPS Facilities and Food Service employees in 38 buildings spanning a large school district. The Safety and Training Manager will identify and monitor safety and training needs district-wide, and design, plan, and implement programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs; conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and foster a “zero harm” culture; and support the goals of multiple stakeholders concurrently.
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure a safe work environment at client sites by providing HS&E and/or Quality Assurance consultation. This role drives a safety culture at the site level. Ensures legal compliance to all Federal, State and Local regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
Reviews and modifies/enhances existing safety and training programs and develops and implements new programs to suit department needs and meet MPS/Sodexo requirements
Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions
Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections; ensures overall compliance
Plans, implements, and maintains preventative care, safety, and compliance programs
Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for incident notification, investigation, and case management
Maintains safety, inspection, and audit data
Functions as a key member of the Work Comp team:Conducts incident investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions
Analyzes data and prepares/facilitates relevant training to address trends and concerns
Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective
Delivers engaging training sessions both onsite and through varied electronic applications
Collaborates with managers, vendors, and third-party training providers to arrange onsite and external training opportunities for Sodexo and MPS employees
Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved budgets
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient presentation skills.
Strong technical abilities to develop and deliver engaging content across varied applications
Thorough understanding of training processes
Ability to moderate large groups
Extremely organized and detail-oriented
Proactive safety mindset
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite. Experience with Prezi, Mentimeter, Smore, and Blackboard or like applications is desired.
