Responsibilities/Qualifications:
Primary Responsibilities:
Negotiate and secure carriers to move freight in a timely and cost-effective manner, while developing effective core carrier relationships.
Utilize OMS/TMS system to track and manage customer shipments.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure transportation procurement needs are met.
Provide consistent and exceptional service levels to carriers and internal customers.
Assist in the preparation of annual Transportation budget and analyze monthly variances.
Analyze our transportation network and develop proposals for service, capacity, and cost improvements.
Manage carrier contracts, scorecards, and KPIs.
Aligning carriers with business objectives to ensure seamless operations and profitability.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Cross-trained in multiple transportation positions
Qualifications:
2-4 years’ experience in Transportation/Logistics.
Proven experience within a Logistics, Transportation, or Distribution Center processes and systems
Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook, TMS applications
Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions
Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment while managing multiple tasks.
Thorough understanding of surface transportation management terms and concepts.
Ability to work flexible shifts/hours.
Strong project management skills
