Responsibilities:

To provide technical services to the Medical Services Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Schedules and performs phlebotomy services for residents of Stella Maris, St. Elizabeth Hall, and private patients following facility policies and procedures.

Keeps accurate records of all tests and distributes reports to units and doctors.

Coordinates anti-coagulant program, communicating with units and Mercy lab to facilitate the smooth operation of the program.

Assures all pre-admission testing and documentation is complete for residents being prepared for surgery or hospital admission.

Functions as liaison with lab to assure accurate and complete laboratory services.

Schedules and performs all EKG’s; distributes all department reports in a timely fashion and maintains related records accurately.

Assists x-ray technologist with transporting, positioning and safeguarding residents and correctly files all x-rays.

Functions as dental technician by assisting at chairside, sterilizing supplies, and transporting patients.

Schedules and sets up clinics and functions as medical technician for consulting physicians in a knowledgeable and efficient manner.

Maintains department and equipment in clean, sanitary working order, assuring adequate supplies and proper equipment sterilization.

Enters insurance information into computer for private, Mercy Ridge and St. Elizabeth Hall patients. Retrieves lab

information if needed in a timely manner.
