Overview:
In addition to usual Phlebotomy duties, in the absence of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, will ensure efficient Out-patient and In-patient Phlebotomy operations; will maintain ETime Payroll hours. Adjust scheduling and staffing as necessary; answer Physician and clinical queries; and complete occurrence reports as needed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Education and Work Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required
Passed an accredited course including clinical experience and have 3 years of phlebotomy experience.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Certification Requirements:
Phlebotomy Certification Preferred
CPR- HeartSaver Preferred
Age Specific Care Provided For:
Neo-natal
Pediatrics
Adolescents
Adults
Geriatrics
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
Microsoft Outlook
Meditech (if applicable to position)
Epic (if applicable to position)
Performance Manager/NetLearning
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Other Requirements:
Venipuncture, patient and customer relations, computer literacy
Venipuncture, bleeding time and process lab samples for in-house and reference laboratory testing
Operate simple medical laboratory equipment i.e. centrifuge
