General Summary:

Responsible for the planning, developing, and implementing a comprehensive County-wide public health program. Promotes public health programs, legislation, and regulations beneficial to public health services areas. Analyzes and interprets state and federal requirements and ensures compliance by the Health Division. Confers with state health officials on various aspects of public health services. Represents the division in policy matters at departmental and Board of Commissioners' meetings. Authorizes final budget proposals, reviews budget modification requests, and searches for alternative sources of funding. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

At the time of application, applicants must: 

1. a. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Public Health Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.

b. Have had at least eight (8) years full-time experience in the administration of public health programs. OR

2. a. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Public Health Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.

b. Have had at least five (5) years of full-time administrative experience in a public health agency.

Special Requirements:

1. Must submit to immunizations as required by the Department of Health & Human Services and to periodic tuberculin skin tests or chest x-rays at County expense.

Pay Range:
