As part of the Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences, the mission of the UC Irvine Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health is the achievement of health equity for all populations through research, teaching, service, and public health practice, locally and globally. Championing the principles of evidence-based public health science, Wen Public Health aspires to understand and impact population-level social, biological, and environmental determinants of health and well-being.
Responsibilities:
The Project Manager for the proposed organized research unit (ORU): Center for Global Cardiometabolic Health and Nutrition (CGCHN). The incumbent will coordinate and manage all aspects of research and programmatic activities under the ORU director’s supervision. This role also encompasses daily coordination and implementation of activities related to specific research projects. These tasks include project team management and coordination, data management and acquisition, data coordination, analysis, and maintaining interactions with ORU core faculty, affiliate members, study consultants, and outsider collaborators.
Supervise and manage student workers and /or research staff to conduct literary searches and preparation of documents for presentation, grant applications, and IRB applications, preparation of letters and manuscripts for both internal and external dissemination; preparation, review, and revision of study documents for reporting requirements by both internal and external sponsors.
Qualifications:
Required:
Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Analytical / problem-solving skills.
Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Strong policy analysis techniques.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Preferred:
MPH or graduate degree in related field or combination of experience and education
