We’re hiring: A Payroll Specialist
Cummings has grown this year by adding 300 committed new hires to our family... and the number is growing! We support our services, construction, and manufacturing businesses by hiring electricians, project managers, service account managers, engineers, estimators, and designers, among others. As a payroll specialist you will be an integral part of the organization. As a member of the Accounting Team the Payroll Specialist is responsible for all payroll functions. Ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with all government regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:
Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:
Job Summary: Payroll specialist is responsible for all payroll functions. Ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with all government regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities for Payroll Specialist
Collect and input time from multiple sources
Review time for accuracy, communicate with supervisors when necessary
Understand and be able to compute wage and overtime calculations
Understand how payroll taxes are assessed
Enter new hire information,
Process terminations
Maintain employee records, and make changes when necessary including employee personal information, pay information, and benefit/deduction information
Process missed time, and request manual checks
Enter garnishment in accordance with state and federal laws
Reconciliations between HRIS, and Accounting system
Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
Learn and understand HRIS system
Perform other duties as necessary
Necessary Skills
Advanced computer skills a must including knowledge of Microsoft 365 products
Sage experience (helpful)
UKG experience (helpful)
5+ years of Payroll experience
