Position Description:

Base pay is influenced by several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and anticipated contributions to meet the needs of the business, along with internal pay equity and external market driven rates. Member of the team responsible for identifying and driving implementation of initiatives to ensure the quality of new features and releases of software. Works with both development and quality engineers and influences design changes to improve quality and features testability.

This role requires hands-on experience in current data warehouse, business intelligence, report writing, and ETL technologies, techniques and architecture. Analyze business data requirements to create relevant reporting and ETL deliverables, including technical specifications, source schema maps, transformation rules and ETL flows.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Delivers, tests and maintains data in the database using best in class tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS etc.

Advanced DDL and DML SQL coding capabilities including complex joins, functions, grouping, unions, conditions, nesting and correlating etc.

Technically proficient with UNIX at the command line and with scripting using all shells.

Analyzes requirements and existing resources to create efficient, high quality ETL designs that meet agreed upon standards.

Ability to work closely with customers to bridge gaps in requirements understanding while delivering iterative data samples that congeal to a final deliverable.

Proficient with scheduling tools (successors and predecessors) and demonstrates a detailed understanding of technical process flows.

Owns and effectively maintains data lineage from a business level to the very technical

Design, develop and maintain data warehouse schema

Engineer ETL routines and data access interfaces

Skills:

Ability to evaluate current data content across the organization and recommend necessary change if required for information asset management needs.

Strong ability to troubleshoot technical challenges.

Requires technical aptitude to recognize issues. Strong communication skills shown through experience in translating specific functional content to both IT and Business audiences so that all aspects are fully understood by each side.

Ability to lead projects and teams relevant to assignments.

Experience mentoring junior and senior level team members 50on best ETL architecture practices

Knowledge:

Knowledge of managed care/health insurance business processes, data variations, current Plan system infrastructure, and products offered by Capital BlueCross and its competitors, e.g. PPO, POS, HMO, Rx, Dental, Vision.

Knowledge of Plan systems, applications and databases and their underlying data structures, including but not limited to: claims, eligibility, premium, clinical, sales.

Must have practical knowledge of designing, building and maintaining corporate enterprise ETL processes.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications, develop code and test cases, and deploy the approved solution.

Experience:

5 years of data and information management experience including data modeling, warehousing, processing and management.

5 years of health care solutions development experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Demonstrated ability to drive results to completion, while managing multiple projects and priorities.

5 years' experience with Informatica accessing large volumes of data in databases such as Netezza, Oracle, and SQL Server.

5 years' experience with ETL processing in SQL environment is preferred.

Experience mentoring junior and senior level team members 50on best ETL architecture practices

Education and Certifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following: Business Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics/Statistics, or Health Administration.
