How does a Trailer Jockey at KTP spend a typical day?

Move trailers and coordinate material movements to and from the warehouse(s)

Maintain a continuous material flow throughout the plants

Maintain an accurate inventory of dropped trailers in the drop lot (i.e. part number, date received, trailer number, lot number and quantity)

Complete daily inspections of trucks; relay any issues prior to operation

Ensure trucks are fueled and operational

Processing all required paperwork accurately and timely

Perform Material Handling responsibilities as requested

Essential Functions:

Operating a Day Cab Truck and Yard Spotter (CLASS A CDL required)

Ability to read and understand Bill of Lading (BOL) from inbound loads and outbound shipments

Operating a sit-down electric forklift safely and with a high degree of caution / get forklift certified on your first day!

Operating the following equipment: (If you haven't had experience with the following equipment, do not worry! Our warehouse staff can train you!)

hand jack / drum dolly / clamp truck / scissors lift /powered hoist / powered floor scrubber / safety cage set up

Requirements

Class A CDL

Experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Ability to read a pick-list and use an electronic inventory control system.

Ability to communicate effectively with all staff and understand instructions from all staff.

Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail with strong communication skills

Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with information.

Ability to maintain a safe, clean, organized warehouse and work area.
