WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT THIS ROLE?

You’ll obtain hands-on experience in the corporate legal and compliance fields.

You’ll work in-house at a fast-paced company.

You won’t be just “taking orders”… you’ll be encouraged to gain a deep understanding of our business and bring your own ideas to the table.

You’ll get a taste of everything from regulatory compliance and employment to marketing and operations, with a fantastic support team to cheer you on.

With lots of variety in day-to-day tasks and long-term projects, you won’t get bored!

Responsibilities:

In-House Support: Assist the Legal team with various aspects of in-house legal work, including (but not limited to) reviewing NDAs, representing Allstate Protection Plans in small claims court, providing support to the HR team, and working closely with the marketing team on various initiatives.

Compliance: Assist with and oversee various aspects of regulatory compliance, including GDPR/CCPA privacy processes, industry-related license renewals, and data/audit requests. Work with external partners and government agencies on compliance issues and filings.

Escalated Complaints Management: Perform thorough investigations into customer complaints raised by regulators to determine the company’s response and to coordinate resolutions with the customer.

Corporate Governance: Assist in maintaining our active entities. registered agents and business registrations/licenses. You’ll also assist in drafting, reviewing and processing for execution corporate documents.

Innovation: Identify and drive the initiation of new processes to create efficiencies within and beyond the Legal department.

Research: Collect data and research various issues through online and internal resources to create detailed analyses.

Administrative Support: General administrative duties such as reviewing mail, coordinating DocuSign requests, managing the legal email alias, invoice processing, and maintaining legal files.

This position requires the ability to take on ad-hoc projects as they arise and handle them with aplomb...every day is a little different around here!

YOU ARE OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE IF YOU ARE

Intellectually curious, highly organized and detail-oriented: you’re not afraid to ask questions and can handle multiple projects and dynamic priorities without missing a beat.

Driven to make an impact on the business: you have a “can-do/will-do” attitude and you’re willing to think outside the box.

Ambitious: no one needs to push you to excel; you’ll go above and beyond to get results (and you’re able to motivate others to do the same!).

You’ll get your hands dirty: you not only bring the knowledge and experiences you have to this role but you’re not afraid to jump in and assist the Legal team wherever necessary in areas that are unfamiliar to you.

You’re unfailingly discreet and able to take care of confidential and often highly sensitive information with the utmost care

You’re comfortable working with co-workers at all levels, including senior management.

Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Able to have fun-we like well-rounded people working at Allstate Protection Plans.
