Our client is a busy manufacturing site and are proud to manufacture British products for the interiors sector. They are looking for an experienced health and safety officer to join their site based in Hyde but oversee the Health and Safety across all sites in the Manchester area.

They are looking for someone with past experience in a manufacturing environment and who is keen to bring in a proactive attitude to all health and safety.

Job Responsibilities:

* Review and develop health and safety across all departments of the manufacturing and distribution sites.

* Continually updating any risk assessments and ensure all reports and assessments are compliant with COSHH regulations.

* Maintain all records when it comes to accident reports and continually reviewing and updating accident books, First Aid supplies and conduct relevant discussions with department managers.

* Regular assessments of any lifting / site equipment and keep a record of reviews and assessments carried out in accordance with PUWER regulations.

* Ensure that the fire alarms / emergency lighting complies with all up to date legislation. Also keeping records of all results from fire drills, fire related assessments. Updating extinguishers and other firefighting equipment and making sure all reports are available to the senior directors.

* Update a regular report that includes all health and safety matters throughout each month.

Job Requirements:

* Must have an excellent knowledge of all current Health and Safety regulations.

* It is essential to have NEBOSH or higher qualification.

* Past experience in a manufacturing setting.

* First aid trained and must be confident with most Microsoft office packages.

* Ideally drive and have your own transport to travel between sites.

Hours:

9am – 5pm Monday to Friday
