Position Overview
The Bay Minette Alabama team is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of safety/occupational health controls, policies, and procedures to achieve and maintain full compliance with regulatory, permit or license requirements in the specific areas of Occupational Health and Safety.
Responsibilities
Embrace and promote the Novelis cultural beliefs of Say Anything, Build Trust, Be Authentic, and Be Open.
Recognize, evaluate, and control employee exposures to industrial risks through the active facilitation of the sites Safety Programs and Policies
Make daily decisions that have a direct impact on the organization’s ability to maintain governmental compliance and the prevention of employee injuries and illnesses.
Help guide facility Security services and be the liaison between them and the facility.
Hold the responsibility of maintaining site safety and health programs, providing technical mentorship on the programs, and providing recommendations on implementation and improvements for the overall efficiency of those programs.
Required Qualifications:
1-2 years of relevant experience with health and safety programs and associated regulations is required.
Be able to interact with employees on all levels of the organization effectively.
Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment, with ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
Proficiency at software applications, including Microsoft Office, and quick learning of new technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a scientific subject area
Previous manufacturing experience
