Overview:
ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (IRRF (phone number removed):
Bowhead is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Infrared Radio Frequency (IR/RF) Division at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in Crane, Indiana. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for performing complex engineering assignments in a research and development environment. The Engineering Technician will utilize various production equipment including, but not limited to, injection mold machines, metal lathes and must be experienced with soldering and welding equipment. The Engineering Technician may provide mentoring and leadership to lower level Engineering Technicians in addition to duties outlined briefly below.
Responsibilities:
Essential duties may include:
Assemble and construct standard equipment or parts and also servicing or repairing the instruments.
Conduct tests using established methods including the preparation, adjusting and operation of equipment.
Recording test data and highlighting deviations found during testing.
Assist in the presentation of data from field notes, manuals and lab reports to the customer.
Must be able to maintain explosive certification.
Qualifications:
Education and experience that demonstrates the ability to effectively perform the above duties is required
Previous experience supporting NSWC Crane and/or the IR/RF Division is highly sought
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
