Overview:
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (GXP (phone number removed):
Bowhead seeks a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our GXP Platform and Launch Contract at NSWC Crane, IN. The Engineering Technician will directly support the Strategic Systems Program (SSP), SP24 Guidance, Navigation and Control Program. The individual must be a self-starter who can work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision, staying organized and multitask while meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Essential functions will include:
Collaborate with and assist NSWC Crane SP24 requirements and deadlines.
Performing mechanical measurements to satisfy requirements to a drawing
Have an understanding and/or experience in using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
Written and oral communications required for technical reports and presentations, and a working understanding of MS Office products.
Have a knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, ProE/Creo, ANSYS Finite Element Analysis
Plan, schedule, budget, and oversee various project elements while managing resources and timelines.
Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with (10+) years of experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or part of a team
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level, however candidates with an active Secret are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
