Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Food Service Worker is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. The Food Service Worker role encompasses many positions in the department: tray-line starter/checker, tray-line worker, cold food prep, utility and dish room, call center, catering, runner, and cafeteria worker. Non-essential duties may include other duties may be assigned by Lead, Supervisor or Manager.

Responsibilities:

Maintains open communication with all staff

Demonstrates proper food handling

Properly secures cash

Consistently records temperatures of all foods

Maintain cleanliness of work area

Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame.

Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, educational offerings to peers, mentoring/precepting of new team members.

Attends Staff Meetings, completes all required competencies and mandatory education as assigned.

Seeks training, educational, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty.

Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients and family members.

Completes other duties as requested/assigned.

Qualifications:

Education

High School Diploma/GED 

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
