Overview:

Due to exciting growth within our organization, we are seeking a Quality Engineer to join the  team in our Poynette, Wisconsin manufacturing facility. In this role you will help lead the team responsible for managing the day-to-day quality operations and ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS). This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality processes, policies, and metrics, with a focus on compliance to processes and procedures.

Maintaining a visible manufacturing floor presence, the Quality Engineer - Systems will manage Quality Coordinators and Inspectors across multiple shifts and will play a crucial role in developing quality oversight tools, including audits and layered oversight, to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Additionally, this role will work closely with the Supplier Quality Engineer to obtain and execute material dispositions, ensuring non-conforming materials are properly managed and corrective actions are implemented effectively.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain layered oversight processes, metrics for managing non-conforming materials, audit processes for Quality Control, and documentation control systems to ensure robust quality management.

Implement quality management processes and tools in coordination with the Quality Manager, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.

Establish, monitor, and maintain quality metrics and associated measures of success to drive continuous improvement in the quality management system.

Lead and manage a team of Quality Coordinators (QCs) and Quality Inspectors (QIs) across multiple shifts, providing direction, training, and performance management to ensure consistent execution of quality standards.

Oversee the management and disposition of non-conforming materials, including conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to prevent recurrence.

Conduct regular audits and assessments of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with internal and external standards and identify opportunities for improvement.

Develop, analyze, and report on performance data for processes and products using statistical methods and data analysis tools to support decision-making and process optimization.

Update and maintain quality-related documentation, including gage validations, process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs), control plans, and work instructions, to ensure current and accurate records.

Coordinate problem-solving activities related to internal and external quality issues to improve product and process capability, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.

Work closely with the Supplier Quality Engineer to obtain and execute material dispositions, ensuring that non-conforming materials are properly handled and quality standards are maintained throughout the supply chain.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering related major.

5-10 years of progressive quality engineering experience.

Previous experience in a high volume manufacturing organization with a strong Quality Management System that is ISO certified or compliant.

ASQC – Certified Quality Engineer preferred.

Experience using SPC software.

Experience leading high performing teams and assisting in developing a culture that values the customer, values the company’s employees and prides itself on exceptional quality while driving organizational growth.

Proven experience in quality management and process improvement, particularly in developing and implementing quality management systems.

Strong experience in managing teams across multiple shifts, including Quality Coordinators and Inspectors.
