Job Description:

Our client is seeking a  Presto Products Quality Engineer. This position is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing and suppliers meet a level of quality that meets or exceeds customer expectations. The quality engineer will provide focused quality engineering support, developing, establishing, and maintaining quality systems that allows products to meet customer and food safety requirements, as well as leading root cause problem solving investigations to reduce complaints.  Client embraces and accepts individual experiences and backgrounds to achieve a diverse and inclusive workplace.

You will have the opportunity to:

Identifies issues, investigates and performs root cause analysis of complaints, and develops corrective actions, leading teams when appropriate.

Leads complaint related Corrective Action activities and communicates improvements with customers as appropriate.

Statistically analyzes test data, draws appropriate conclusions, and uses that knowledge to drive quality improvement at manufacturing locations and suppliers.

Improves quality systems by completing timely internal audits and implementing improvements.

Collaborates and communicates with Quality Departments at two facilities to improve quality.

Responsible to comply with the GFSI standards, prerequisite programs and GMP practices to ensure food safety requirements are met. To report potential food safety concerns to those with authority to take action.

Assist with Supplier Quality Management as necessary: ensuring specifications are clear, qualifying new products/suppliers, monitoring ongoing performance, etc.

Qualifications:

BS in Engineering or equivalent work experience in related fields.

Lean Six Sigma training or certification preferred.

Must have at least 5+ years experience as QA Engineer - conducting quality analysis, quality improvement, quality support, etc.

Experience using standard quality tools such as Corrective Action, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, etc.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Strong statistical knowledge required, preferably with experience in Minitab.

Experience with BRCGS or other GFSI food safety standards.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.

Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities.

Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Proficient in MS Office.

Ability to travel up to 20%.
