About the Company: Our client is a leading player in the supply of high-precision components. We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join thier dedicated team.

Job Description: As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for manufacturing injection mould tools from scratch as well as repairing, and maintaining high-quality injection mould tools as well as troubleshooting for production. You will work closely with the production team to ensure that all tooling meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Tool Maker – Key Responsibilities:

Workload Planning: As a Tool Maker, plan and manage your workload efficiently to meet deadlines based on the Works Order List.
Tool Manufacturing: Manufacture tools according to the Tool Order Request, using current design drawings, ensuring precision and quality.
BS 308 Compliance: Work in accordance with BS 308 drawing standards and other relevant British Standards to ensure accuracy in tool production.
Self-Inspection: As a Tool Maker, inspect your work before it moves to the next stage of tool manufacture or tool commissioning.
Dimensional Accuracy: Record any out-of-tolerance dimensions on the drawing and ensure they accompany the Tool Order Request through the manufacturing process.
Work Instructions Adherence: Follow all work instructions relevant to the toolroom and maintain high standards in production.
Health & Safety: Comply with all Health and Safety regulations while performing duties as a Tool Maker.
Machine Operation: Operate all machines and tools in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Hand Skills: Utilise your tool maker hand skills to work with a range of tools and equipment, maintaining them in top condition.
Tooling & Manufacturing Processes: Keep updated on the latest tooling and moulding processes, ensuring continuous improvement in production efficiency.
Technological Updates: Stay informed on the latest tool making technologies and apply this knowledge to your role.
Collaborative Teamwork: Complete tasks as directed by your line manager to support the overall goals of the toolroom and the company.
Machine Maintenance: Report any machine or equipment malfunctions to your line manager immediately for timely repairs.
Requirements:

Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in Toolmaking, with a focus on injection moulding, a background in Press tools also considered
Proven experience in the manufacture, maintenance, and repair of injection mould tools.
Proficiency in operating both manual and CNC machining equipment.
Strong understanding of CAD/CAM software.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
