Location: Winchester, Hampshire
Salary/Rate: £32k - £38k per annum (plus overtime)

Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity with global partner who is a leading System Integrator and Technology Solutions provider. They have recently expanded their operations to the UK and are looking to build the new Fibre network across the country. They have expertise in delivering Fibre Optic access network projects across multiple regions and is set to play a significant role in the UK's digital future

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
As a Fibre Splicer, you will be responsible for performing fibre splicing and related tasks. You will work closely with the Project Manager and the Operational Quality, Health & Safety teams to ensure projects are implemented safely, on time, and meet customer specifications.

1. Perform fibre splicing of various types and sizes of fibre optic cable, including single mode and multimode
2. Conduct fibre cable pulling jobs and assist the team as needed, including test rod & rope tasks.
3. Lead or supervise teams on-site and report progress to the Project Manager.
4. Perform risk assessments and monitor site activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
5. Install closures, couplers, ODFs, and BT Cabinets.
6. Read and interpret maps, drawings, and blueprints for fibre installation and testing.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Proven track record in fibre splicing, blowing fibre, and fibre optic cable installation

2. Proficiency in OTDR, power meter testing, and fibre termination.

3. CSCS, ECS, or EUSR (Telecommunication) cardholder.

4. BT PIA S0001, S0002, S7, S8

5. NRSWA 1,2

6. S9

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

1. NRSWA Unit 2 & 10 (optional), BT PIA S7, and SA002 certifications.
2. Asbestos awareness certification.
3. Knowledge of bucket truck operations and confined space training.
