FINTEC recruit is recruiting for a Project Manager for ship repair projects. This is a permanent role, salary commensurate with experience plus benefits. Working 39 hours per week Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m finish 2:30 p.m. on Fridays, Overtime available, paid at enhanced rates.

Responsibilities:

Manage ship repair projects

Driving productivity and efficiency, coordinating all production to execute work specifications

Optimise resourcing levels, monitor performance and outputs, be commercially aware

Interpret technical specification, identifying variations to specifications and align costs for approval

Manager all subcontractor, labour, consumable and material costs, accountable for project P&L

Conduct regular inspections of work areas, identifying and eliminate any hazardous conditions or practices

Be aware of company accreditations, ensure work is carried out with OH&S Management systems.

Skills and experience required for the Project Manager role

Strong leader, highly organised, ability to motivate and to engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.

Have a good working knowledge of Ship repair and or heavy engineering

Experience of preparing detailed variation costs for customer submission.

Experience of evaluating sub-contractors and supplier quotations.

Able to Chair Project Progress Meetings and other meetings as required.

Must be able to understand and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
