BKF Engineers is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team in Oakland! This position has the option to work a hybrid remote schedule upon successful completion of onboarding and training and will regularly report to our Oakland office.

Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and helping ensure the accuracy of financial records. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field of study.
Strong analytical skills and willingness to learn and ask questions.
Strong attention to detail & accurate data entry skills.
Strong discipline, confidentiality, and integrity.
Able to work independently in a changing, fast-paced, environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of Deltek Vision a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Moderate standing, reaching, walking, stooping, and lifting.
Sustains substantially recurring movement to fingers, hands, and wrists.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Month, and Year-End close activities.
Analyze and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, preparing general ledger entries and necessary adjustments.
Reconcile bank and cash accounts in a timely manner.
Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Assist with payroll support, payroll journals, payroll taxes, payroll withholdings, conduct regular.
audits, and various other payroll-related matters.
Assist the Controller and CFO with financial reporting and analysis.
Prepare regulatory filings.
Assist with accounts payable and receivable and other accounting-related tasks as needed.
Benefits
The typical base salary range for this position is $29.00/hour - $37.00/hour, depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
