Job Description

Timmons Group is currently seeking a Landscape Architect Project Manager to join our Land Development Group located in our Raleigh, NC office location. Our award-winning landscape architecture and land planning team offers an extensive range of services for commercial, mixed-use, parks and open space, energy and renewables, campus and institution, multi-family, and government clients across multiple markets. Our studio strives to create dynamic places that achieve timeless appeal and are tailored to our clients’ goals and the communities we serve.

Candidates should be passionate about the built environment, self-motived, love design at all levels, and comfortable working in a collaborative studio culture. As Project Manager, you will successfully manage all phases of work including production of high-quality designs, presentations, and documentation. Essential Roles and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

Project Management (75-80%)

Collaborate with principals in the office on a variety of project types and scales.

Manage and supervise internal landscape architecture and civil engineering project teams with planning, site layout, and landscape design documents.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on complex projects of all scales.

Maintain and develop client relationships.

Act as an advocate and mentor for design staff.

Collaborate with senior management to coordinate concept visioning sessions and review design documents and specifications for quality control.

Prepare construction cost estimates.

Marketing and Business Development (10-15%)

Write proposals and prepare responses to RFPs and qualifications-based proposals.

Prepare presentations and interview for prospective work.

Administrative Management and Training (10-15%)

Attend weekly meetings to coordinate projects and workplans.

Review project budgets and monthly reports.

Act as a design resource for projects and department standards.

Engage in training and professional development opportunities.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.

A minimum of 8 years’ professional experience in landscape architecture is preferred.

Professional registration as a North Carolina Licensed Landscape Architect or ability to obtain reciprocity quickly.

Team player with excellent design, graphic, communication, and presentation skills.

Well organized and detail oriented.

Experience in producing high-quality concept presentations and documentation sets.

Experience of project accounting and demonstrated ability to manage project schedules and budgets.

Experience in construction administration and specifications.

Experience in business development and client development.

Experience with both in-office and remote project management

Knowledge in design software including AutoCAD, Land F/X, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and 3D modeling programs.

Understanding of Microsoft Suite applications, BlueBeam PDF, and construction management software(s)

LEED or SITES Accreditation is preferred but not required.
