Inspector Position
Salary:- £30k days
Overview: We are seeking an experienced Inspector to join a dynamic engineering team. The role involves approving finished products, performing first-off inspections throughout the manufacturing process, and inspecting incoming materials to ensure they meet stringent quality standards. You will maintain measuring equipment and uphold a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Approve finished products by confirming they meet specifications through visual and measurement testing.
* Inspect incoming products and materials to ensure they adhere to visual and dimensional specifications.
* Conduct first-off inspections during the manufacturing process.
* Operate manual and automated measuring equipment (Micrometres, Callipers, Bore Mics, Thread Gauges, etc.).
* Create dimensional, hardness test, and visual inspection reports.
* Manage non-conforming product reports and quarantine defective parts.
* Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure measuring equipment is functioning properly.
* Assist with customer witness activities as required.
* Uphold health, safety, and quality standards.
* Provide training and support as needed to develop team members and enhance processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Working knowledge of geometric tolerances and measurement techniques.
* Competency in operating manual measurement equipment and CMM systems (Mitutoyo, Aberlink).
* Understanding of non-conforming product procedures and customer specifications.
* Experience using hardness testing equipment (Rockwell, Brinell).
Desirable Skills:
* CMM programming on Mitutoyo or Aberlink software.
* Knowledge of Dye Penetrant PCN Level II.
* Familiarity with Trimos vertical height gauges and Faro Arms.
* Experience in NDE techniques and Microsoft Office.
Key Competencies:
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the business.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
* Team player with the capability to build strong working relationships.
