Forsyth Barnes is recruiting on behalf of a leading player in the UK's energy transition. The company plays a vital role in supporting the country’s journey to net zero by developing the green energy systems of tomorrow, while ensuring current energy demands are met efficiently and effectively.
About the role
Do you have the vision to see the entire picture and not just a piece of the puzzle? As a Senior Data Insights Officer, you will bring that perspective to life. In this role, you will join the Commercial and Incentives team, where you'll have the opportunity to develop forecasting models and drive continuous improvements in energy forecasting processes.
Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, you'll work to ensure the forecasting tools, processes, and outputs are accurate and efficient, directly contributing to business outcomes. Your insights will help the company make well-informed decisions around the operation of the network, ensuring continued progress towards key energy goals.
What we are looking for
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
* Strong experience in demand forecasting and data modelling techniques
* Excellent proficiency in Excel and Power BI, or other data visualisation tools
* Confidence in building strong relationships with stakeholders and offering insights to challenge thinking when necessary
* The ability to analyse past performance, trends, and future projections to guide decision-making
* A strategic mindset and passion for problem-solving
* Experience developing forecasting tools and processes, ideally in a fast-paced or highly regulated environment
* While energy industry experience is beneficial, it’s not essential. If you have a background in demand forecasting and data analysis from another sector, your unique perspective will be highly valued.
What we can offer you
*
* Annual bonus of 6%, based on personal and company performance
* 26 days’ holiday, plus statutory holidays, with options to buy or sell extra days
* Generous double-match pension scheme (up to 12% company contribution)
* Flexible benefits, including private healthcare, dental insurance, and more
* Overtime at 1.5x standard rate, with double time on Sundays
* Financial protection with 10x salary death-in-service benefit
* Comprehensive family-friendly policies, including maternity/paternity/adoption leave
* Career development, professional training, and access to LinkedIn Learning
* Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 confidential counselling
