Join our team at Mercy's GYN practice as a Medical Assistant, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include gathering patient charts and encounter forms, meticulously documenting patient assessments, providing invaluable support to providers during exams and procedures, and maintaining well-stocked examination rooms. Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
This position will be required to travel to our downtown, Manchester, Columbia, and Reisterstown locations.
Responsibilities:
Collect patient history and work with enhancing direct patient care
Assist during patient exams and procedures
Handle prescription requests and organize medical records
Provide informative patient education
Upkeep exam room maintenance by stocking and cleaning rooms and sterilizing instruments
Conduct prior authorizations
Manage prescription requests and communicate lab results with patients
Follow written and oral instructions
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
Certification Requirements: Must have certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program, CPR certification preferred
Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures and demonstrates knowledge of the clinic operations and related policies
One year of experience in a similar role within a medical office environment
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a service-oriented mindset and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience working in a medical office setting
Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
Works effectively to meet deadlines and enhance performance and demonstrates flexibility in an effort to meet demands and goals of clinic
Independent decision-making ability and ability to follow instructions effectively
May be required to travel to satellite offices
