Full Time Onsite Position
Location: San Martin Avenue
We are looking for a skilled and empathetic Behavioral Health Associate that wants to make a difference and be part of an amazing and growing team located in San Martin, CA, located just outside of San Jose, in the historic Santa Clara Valley, one of California's oldest wine growing regions.
Join us at Embark at our Short-term Residential Treatment Program in San Martin, where residential counselors offer guidance and support to adolescents and their families.
Serving teen girls and boys (gender fluid) ages 12 – 17, experiencing and struggling with school refusal, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, suicidal ideation and other mental health issues. Pre-teens and teens reside at our Residential Treatment Center in our comfortable family-style residence, where community and interpersonal relationships are fostered and encouraged.
Responsibilities:
Walking students through their day-to-day activities
Ensuring alignment with their treatment plan that our therapists create for them
Relaying any pertinent information over to the treatment team
Consistent and thorough documentation and reporting
Crisis prevention and management
Maintaining a safe environment for clients
Participate in staff bonding and house bonding activities
Daily light housekeeping; sweeping, cleaning up/putting things away, dishes, etc.
Enforcing a positive environment and being a role model
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work or related field preferred, but not required.
21+ years of age or older
Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
Able to pass criminal investigation background check
Current driver's license
Ability to effectively communicate and build healthy relationships.
Ability to set and teach positive values
Ability to perform CPR and First-Aid.
Ability to safely hold or restrain an upset or combative student
Skill in de-escalating agitated students.
Preferred - One year of experience in a residential setting using relational, experiential, and systemic modalities.
Seeking EMT candidate to use your skills in a different way to support adolescents in a mental health treatment program, preferred but not required.
