My busy Chesterfield based client are currently seeking experienced and talented Platers Fabricators for their impressive, modern facility with immediate effect.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Fabrication and development on bespoke steel fabrications in a heavy engineering environment.
* Using varying workshop tools, plant and machinery.
* Working from engineering drawings & specifications.
* Expert level of building parts/assemblies to engineering drawings.
* Welding to a high quality.
* Measuring and marking out plate and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling.
* Adherence to all health & safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed:
* Confident plater & fabricator (ideally 3-5 years’ experience)
* Experience in welding, drilling, tapping & cutting
* Aptitude for interpretation of engineering drawings and working from scratch
* Ideally apprentice trained or relevant qualifications.
* Experience operating fabrication machinery
* Must have worked within a heavy steel industry (with experience on large structures, for example bridges, staircases, etc…)
* Confident working from engineering drawings from scratch.
Working Hours / Benefits
* Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 4.00pm
* Friday 7.00am to 12.00pm
* Rate of pay - £16 per hour
* Overtime – 1.5x
* 12-week temp to perm
* Modern facilities
* Free on-site parking
* Once permanent, they offer such benefits as; healthcare schemes, pensions, etc…
These roles are being offered on a ‘Temp to Perm’ basis and so we are only looking to hear from candidates looking for long term work.
