JOB SUMMARY:
The Emergency Dept RN provides nursing care to patients in compliance with the Maryland Nurse Practice Act, Standards of Practice and defined by ANA, ENA, BSBHS, and organization protocols, policies, procedures, and guidelines
Develops, implements, evaluates, and revises plan of care based on the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient/family
Assesses patient for changes that may hinder recovery.
Collaborates with staff, physicians, and other disciplines to provide quality care delivery
Must Haves:
Minimum of 2 years RN Experience specific to the Emergency Room within the last 4 years
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. Current RN licensure with Maryland Board of Nursing or Compact State, if resident of that state)
BLS required. ACLS within 6 months of hire
PALS and Hazmat within one year of hire
Certification in Emergency Nursing Preferred
Completes orientation according to policy/procedures
The new Emergency Department features 17,000 square feet of state-of-the-art design with technology and amenities for emergency care. Patients and visitors will immediately see a larger, brighter space with a comfortable waiting room. Twenty-nine spacious, well-lit private treatment rooms are appointed throughout the space, with the provider station positioned front and center. Here, physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other clinicians will collaborate to provide a personalized plan of care for each patient. Negative pressure rooms are located in the department, for isolation of infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
