Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional team player who demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and commitment to their work. This role is essential for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of steel mill equipment and systems through both preventative and corrective maintenance. The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for identifying, proposing, and implementing solutions to challenges in the steel-making process. Safety is our top priority, and the successful candidate must consistently lead and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, proposing and implementing solutions to enhance the steel-making process.

Maintain a safe work environment by strictly adhering to safety policies, procedures, and standards.

Demonstrate accountability by taking ownership of work tasks and ensuring desired results are achieved.

Proactively identify work that needs to be done and take on responsibilities and challenges with a positive attitude.

Work effectively within a team environment, promoting mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.

Resolve conflicts when necessary and work collaboratively to achieve common goals.

Communicate effectively with team members, ensuring clear understanding and coordination of tasks.

Utilize knowledge of maintenance systems and techniques to service, repair, adjust, and test equipment, systems, and processes.

Make informed decisions by considering the costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution.

Minimum Requirements:

4 years of experience in an industrial electrical role, or a combination of 4 years of experience and a trade school degree.

Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Strong understanding of fundamental electrical theory.

Knowledge and experience with AC & DC motors.

Experience with power transformers and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Formal training or knowledge in electrical safety practices.

Proficiency in operating forklifts, mobile cranes, and other mobile equipment.

Experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Formal education or training in electrical theory.

In-depth knowledge of AC and DC motor operation and maintenance.

Experience with power transformers and PLCs.

Formal electrical safety training and experience.

Experience in operating forklifts, mobile cranes, or other mobile equipment.

Skills and Competencies:
