Overview:

This position shall provide planning and scheduling personnel to provide work within the scope of the role. All work will be planned and scheduled using the SRNL Work Management System.  

Responsibilities:

Task assignments may include but are not limited to adding, moving, and/or relocating electrical outlets, receptacles, switches, computer jacks and telephone jacks.

Troubleshooting electrical systems; replacing, correcting and/or relocating fuse boxes, panels, breakers, wiring, light switches and light fixtures; replacement of all types of light bulbs, batteries (emergency light) and ballasts.

Replacing and/or correcting thermostats and appliances (e.g., fans, stoves, refrigerators, etc.).

The employee shall be required to work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, verbal instructions or other specifications.

Other requirements shall include locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical systems or equipment and the use of a variety of electrician hand tools and test equipment.

Employee shall correct/replace loose connections, short circuits, contact springs, contacts and other deficiencies. In the performance of these duties, the Subcontractor shall check that wiring insulation has not been compromised. The Subcontractor shall replace defective electrical wiring (480V or less) if directed in work package task instructions.

The replacement of ballasts rated at 277 volts shall be considered corrective maintenance and shall be by done by a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW).

Qualifications:

 The employee shall furnish documented evidence that skilled maintenance employees have a minimum of a two (2) year associate degree or equivalent military school in a related field, or four (4) years industrial experience performing the required job functions as described in this Job Description.  Electricians must provide proof of training to NFPA 70E Standards or SRS Manual 18.Q Procedure 2 and be able to qualify as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) per site standards after employment. Possess the ability to obtain a DOE security clearance.

Possess a valid state driver's license.

Possess a high school diploma or GED.

Must be a US Citizen
