Production Operative
Duration: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday-Thursday 6am - 6pm
Pay: £12.34p/h rising to £12.84p/h
Location: Greetland, Halifax
Available ASAP
Duties of the role:
Carry out duties in accordance with Company Procedures, maintaining a high level of awareness and commitment in the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality aspects of work. In particular, carry out all operations in a safe manner, utilising appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as specified, and complying with all site procedures.
Operate machinery such as carding and mix masters. Use tools to manufacture products as detailed in standard operating procedures and safe systems of work
Ensure that all deviations from process/breakdowns/issues are reported to the Level 5/6 Technician
Participate in departmental briefs and safety meetings and, when required, attend and participate in the morning daily point CIP meeting
Support all long-term project work
Adhere to all Company policy/procedures and standing instructions
Conduct and carry out basic maintenance work, plant cleaning and tool changing as required
Participate in safety initiatives, audits and incident reporting ensuring effective housekeeping measures are maintained in area, participate in 5S activities.
Adherence to set/defined goals and targets.
Be flexible in all areas, across Conversion and Production, assist with all other team members and give support to other associates.
Undergo training, as required, for process or equipment changes and to maintain and increase competency, e.g. refresher training.
Participate in new starter inductions and, where applicable, train relevant personnel in operative duties.
Skills/Requirements needed:
Ideally educated to GCSE level (Grades A-C/9-5/Level 3 pass) or equivalent.
Proven production experience ideally in a manufacturing environment.
Competence to maintain compliance and standards at all time.
Team player.
Positive communicator.
Able to accept "change" and work flexibly to high standards.
Customer focused (internal and external).
IT literate.
Inter-personal skills.
Able to accept "change" and work flexibly to high standards.
Excellent organisational and inter-personal skills.
Excellent time management skills, including accuracy and punctuality
Work on own initiative exercising good common sense and attention to detail
