Overview:

Role title: Software Engineer - Full Stack

Salary range: $105,000 - $115,000, depending on experience

There is no travel expected for this position. 

LSAC is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to advance law and justice by encouraging diverse, talented individuals to study law and by supporting their enrollment and learning journeys from prelaw through practice.

LSAC provides products and services that support candidates and schools throughout the law school admission process, and innovative solutions to expand and diversify the range of prelaw students, enhance student outcomes in law school, and support legal professionals throughout their careers.

We are seeking a full stack engineer to join our team. You will work as part of an autonomous agile team to develop features and applications to meet the needs of your product area. We are looking for a candidate with deep understanding of engineering best practices and a strong agile mindset. In addition, this position will be responsible for operational maintenance, troubleshooting and support of applicable backend systems. As you progress in your position, you will have the opportunity to work with new and interesting technology.

Collaborate with partners within the company to design, configure, maintain, and promote a variety of internally and externally facing software solutions for a wide range of users, including people with disabilities.

Collaborate with analysts, software engineers, engineer leads, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet customer expectations.

Build and maintain scalable applications.

Deliver high quality code in a timely manner that meets or exceeds accessibility standards.

Continuously monitor, evaluate, and optimize software.

Collaborate across agile teams to ensure application reliability and coding to architectural standards.

Contributes as part of the team to continuous code delivery with deployment tools and automated testing.

Scale software to support dynamic teams in a fast-paced environment.

Restful APIs and web APIs

Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle

MS VB and C# .NET frameworks, including Web Forms and Windows Forms

Hands-on experience with Git and code management methodologies.

Comfortable working in an agile environment and challenging yourself and your team to improve their ways of working.

Experience with relational and unstructured data repositories.

Knowledge of modern development practices and the development lifecycle with experience using Scrum, Kanban, Lean or other agile methodologies.

Values the success of the team over personal objectives.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as experience with MS Office Suite including MS Teams.

Education and Experience

B.A. or B.S. degree (preferred) or 5+ years related experience.

Experience creating digital content and applications compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and ARIA standards

Experience with a variety of object-oriented languages.

Experience with web and cross platform technologies.

Experience with continuous delivery and automated testing.

JavaScript frameworks like jQuery, React JS, and Angular (preferred)

Additional Information

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have people management responsibilities.

Position Type

The LSAC standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. ET. While these are the standard office hours for LSAC, as an exempt employee, the employee will be expected to work the hours necessary to satisfactorily complete their assignments in a responsible and professional manner.

Work Environment

This job operates in a remote and professional office environment. Whether remote or in-office, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
