Picoma, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a First Shift Production Supervisor for our facility located in Cambridge, OH. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production and all Teammates on day shift.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Takes an active role in the promotion and enforcement of safety initiatives.
Ensuring that employees are working in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Ensuring that workers are aware of identified hazards within the workplace as well as the measures that are required to be taken in order to prevent an incident from occurring
Review daily operating reports and report operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues and shift events to superiors in order to prevent operational delays
Troubleshoot operational and tooling problems to improve quality and efficiency
Build and maintain a positive team-oriented environment amongst production personnel
Discipline personnel in coordination with plant management and Human Resources
Obtain immediate medical treatment for all injuries
Notify appropriate management and enter required events (accidents, injuries, incidents) into Intelex
Ensures attainment of planned production goals
Ensures all ISO and quality standards and process procedures are maintained
Assists in inspection of machines and equipment with maintenance and the operator to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems
Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-Secondary Education, Technical Diploma or equivalent manufacturing or shipping experience
At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility
Ability to demonstrate thorough understanding of manufacturing process. Detailed knowledge of the relationship between work centers and how variables at each work center affect other areas.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft office package including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Experience in Shop Floor interfaces such as MES as well as ERP usage such as SAP or Oracle based platform
Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
Top-notch communications skills, both verbal and written.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for several hours
Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
Must be able to lift 60lbs.
Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours
Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment
