Our client has grown organically and through acquisition to become the UK’s leading and most innovative national manufacturer and supplier of sustainable timber pallets.
As a result of continuous growth, the opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join our Reconditioned team based at Derby with responsibility for 3 sites to include Rotherham and Wigan
reporting to the Quality Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* The purpose of this role is to support the Quality Manager in achieving the key objectives to ensure compliant processes and product, by liaising with site managers and offering a hands-on practical approach to driving a quality culture and improvement initiatives across a multisite operation.
* The Quality Engineer will work towards developing supporting documentation and practical tools to ensure that all sites are adhering to a standardised Quality Management System across the Group.
* In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking audits in accordance with the audit schedule and ensure that any non-conformances are reported and managed within a timely manner.
* You will play a key part in leading the quality improvement initiatives across the Pallet Division sites, delivering a practical and lean approach to site processes.
* This will also involve providing support and training to the site quality champions to drive the quality culture/awareness to site personnel.
* Addressing route cause analysis, NCR’s, targeting identification, implementation and rectification of all corrective preventative actions.
* Control/Lead Audits (Internally & Externally) 9001 – 45001 – 14001
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
* As a Quality Engineer, you will be a certified auditor (ideally ISO9001).
* Be able to demonstrate the knowledge and practical application of quality control activities and act flexibly within a diverse range of manufacturing environments.
* The ideal candidate for the role will need to have excellent communication and team-building capabilities with a solution-focused and problem-solving mindset.
* Due to the nature of your role, the ideal candidate must hold a valid UK driving license and will be willing to work and travel across the UK.
* To be successful in this role, a ‘can do’ attitude with a passion for driving a quality culture is key.
