Senior Planning Manager

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to present a fantastic Senior Planning Manager opportunity in Stansted. My client is a family-owned property company at the forefront of specialist property development, with extensive experience in the restoration and conversion of historic and listed buildings.

As a key member of the Planning & Design Team, you will work closely with the Design & Planning Director and other Senior Planning Managers and will be responsible for key projects and providing guidance and advise to other team members and stakeholders.

Some of your duties will include:

You will manage assigned projects from site purchase to planning approval and discharge of planning conditions by leading specific teams in the Planning & Design Department and external consultants.
Working with the Director, you will submit planning applications in line with that agreed in the Initial Scheme Report and in accordance with the agreed Programme and Cost Plan.
You will be responsible for providing other departments with the necessary information, properly laid out, to enable them to discharge their responsibilities with the maximum of efficiency, making best use of Company resources.
Actively participate in Weekly Planning Meetings, reporting to the Design & Planning Director and the rest of the team against projects you are involved in.
Maintain a good knowledge of existing and changes to planning and other legislation that affect the potential for developing current and future sites.

Candidate Requirements:

RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related field of study/qualification.
Ideally MRTPI or working toward chartership.
Demonstratable previous experience in a similar planning role, both public and private sector backgrounds considered, with commercial awareness.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as impeccable report writing.
Sound and practical knowledge, and a through understanding of the industry and its products and processes.
