Job Title: Process Engineer
Location: Birmingham (hybrid - 3 days in office)
Department: Process Engineering (Water)
Reports to: Technical Director
Purpose: To support various departments with process engineering tasks as assigned by the Technical Director.

Key Responsibilities
Provide process input during tender reviews and follow up with actions.
Offer technical support to project teams, including creating process documentation (e.g., design basis, process diagrams, data sheets).
Evaluate technical aspects of returned quotations and check orders for accuracy.
Respond to technical queries from vendors.
Understand client and company specifications to define process requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors on proposals or projects.
Participate in design meetings, including HAZOP studies and value engineering.
Assist in commissioning, programming, troubleshooting, and collecting performance data.
Engage in developing computer-aided process design techniques and carry out field studies.
Contribute to the preparation of operation and maintenance manuals.
Comply with Health and Safety and Environmental responsibilities. Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT packages.
3-5 years of experience as a Process Engineer, preferably in the water/wastewater industry.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable:
Working towards Chartered Engineer or Eur Ing status.
Experience with HAZOP studies and BioWin design models. Performance Measures
Quality and feasibility of technical materials and process designs.
Ability to meet deadlines and provide innovative solutions.
Quality of support provided to other engineers and departments. Personal Qualities
Effective teamwork skills.
Good written and verbal communication.
Enthusiastic and proactive attitude
