Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing company based in Wembley who specialise in the design and manufacture of highly complex projects for the Scientific & Medical industries.

Due to increase needs, our client is currently looking for a NPI Technician to join the growing team to work on a new prudct.

Key responsibilities/Duties

* To work with the R&D design and NPI teams to assemble and maintain R&D instruments and ancillary equipment.

* To contribute to assembly and service documentation applying the necessary version control procedures.

* To assist with assembly of the first prototypes of new products and to collaborate with Design and NPI Engineers to optimise designs.

* To assist the NPI team in establishing the optimal structure of product BOMs.

* To contribute to first release assembly instructions along with subsequent revisions.

* Be available to assist with other strands of development, including testing, validation and documentation associated with Specials.

* Working with the team to ensure that projects and tasks are completed within the constraints of the project plan.

* Contribute to technical reviews and risk assessments, advising on potential assembly or servicing issues.

Requirements

* An understanding of Electro-mechanical products, the use of sensors for measurement, manufacturing, assembly and testing. Experience working with a wide range of tools and technologies and be familiar with the health and safety requirements of the workplace.

* CAD skills would be beneficial but not essential

* Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.

* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. Be able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and be able to work effectively with colleagues.

* The ability to identify and address technical issues quickly and effectively. Ability to troubleshoot systems and suggest solutions to technical problems.

* Attention to detail.

* Able to identify and correct errors and ensure that prototypes are thoroughly tested and validated.

* Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and BOM data accuracy

* Good knowledge of MS Office and document layout is beneficial.

* Able to use a camera to obtain descriptive images for inclusion in assembly instructions and service bulletins

* Awareness of ESD and manual handling safety
