Our Client is one of the most iconic and well-known leading Motorcycle manufacturers in the World. Creating modern classics and with a healthy order book, it is our privilege to now be supporting them with the recruitment of an experienced Quality Engineer on a permanent basis.

Based at their state-of-the-art UK Technical Centre you will be responsible for developing the quality management system as well as supporting the core business to ensure products reach their customers at the correct quality level, within cost and on time. You will work with teams across the business, suppliers and sometimes with their domestic dealers to enable you to have a full appreciation of the impact that quality has on their products and business.

The main focus of this role will be to develop and streamline the current company Quality Management System, as well as improving and documenting the company's quality policies and processes standards. You will take a lead on the maintenance of external supplier audits. They are also looking for an individual with sufficient experience to work closely with engineers overseas and the UK to ensure adequate levels of quality are maintained through product development, APQP, and the PPAP stages. This role will interact across all systems, components and platforms for existing and new products. This is an office based role reporting to the UK based Quality Assurance Team Manager, but can involve international travel when required.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Contribute to the development of the company's quality policies, processes, standards, and systems.
Perform Internal audits to ensure compliance.
Work with various departments to develop departmental process flow diagrams.
Work with Quality Engineers to audit, document and update PPAP document/s.
Responsible for working with Quality Engineers in maintaining the PPAP tracker.
Coordination of Appearance Approval Reports and Form, Fit and Function Reports.
Weekly meetings to progress internal corrective actions and improvements.
Corrective Work with Quality Engineers to establish quality concerns investigation protocol and use SCAR and 8D process as part of the investigation.
Maintenance of the Quality Issues Database system.
Ensure that suppliers have related documents/quality manuals and work with suppliers to ensure they understand requirements.
Liaise with design regarding product manufacturing methods.
Be involved in continuous improvement activities.
Support UK, Europe related warranty issues.You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Should ideally possess at least a HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering or similar, although plenty of relevant experience will be considered.
Should be an experienced Quality Engineer who has previously worked in an Automotive and/or Motorcycle manufacturing environment.
Quality system experience (maintenance & external system audits) is required.
You should have a good working knowledge of ISO:9001, (or AS9100, IATF 16949).
APQP & PPAP experience is needed here.
You should have DFM & Manufacturing process experience.
You will need good Quality problem solving skill, corrective actions and investigation experience.
Should be able to provide Supplier product development support (European suppliers).
You will be proficient in using Powerpoint and Excel.
You’ll be a self-starter who is able to work on your own initiative.It’s great if you also have the following:
Lead Auditor Qualified is preferred, but is not essential.This position is available with immediate effect.
