Role Overview : As a Teaching Assistant, specializing in supporting secondary students who are deaf and/or hearing impaired, you'll become an essential part of these students' educational journeys. Your responsibilities are pivotal:
Student Support: Your presence will ensure these students can fully engage in classroom activities, access learning materials, and receive the support they need.
Communication Assistance: Your kindness and expertise in British Sign Language (BSL) will bridge communication gaps, allowing these students to interact effectively with teachers and peers.
Inclusive Classroom: You'll be at the heart of an inclusive classroom, where every student, regardless of their hearing abilities, feels valued and part of a special community.
Collaboration: Working closely with teachers and staff, you'll adapt and implement classroom activities tailored to students' unique needs, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
BSL Training: We're looking for a compassionate individual with a minimum of BSL Level 2 or higher certification.
