We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at a school in Bierton, Buckinghamshire. Key Responsibilities:
Support students with SEMH needs in both group and one-to-one settings
Assist in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment
Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver tailored interventions
Monitor and track students’ progress, offering feedback to the teaching team
Support the development of social and emotional skills through targeted activities
Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors in a positive, constructive manner
Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable)
A patient, empathetic, and resilient personality
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to stay calm and focused under pressure
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team
