Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer
Location: Clevedon, UK
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £59k pa

iO is looking to recruit an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to work with a leader in mitigation and abatement worldwide, they are dedicated to reducing the adverse effects of semiconductor manufacturing on the environment and the natural world.
The Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for inspiring, guiding, and empowering a developing group of electrical engineers working on semiconductor equipment manufacturing. The scope of work will include concept to customer commissioning and field trials. Using best practices in engineering, on-time delivery, adherence to specifications, and budgetary constraints will all be ensured.

Requirements:

  • Degree: Electrical engineering bachelor's degree (essential) or proof of equivalent.
  • Considerable experience in the real-world application of electrical engineering, product development, and best practices in a relevant engineering sector.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams of electrical engineers and approximately ten or more individuals in a project-based setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the backbone of our engineering and product development teams, utilising engineering tools and techniques to remove uncertainty from the work and produce solutions that are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with standards and directives.
  • Effectively collaborate with our engineering teams and exert influence over them to guarantee that work packages and deliverables are clear and that technical problems are resolved by finding the best solution.
  • Assume responsibility for the technical aspects of the product system and/or subsystem design, recognising risks, taking appropriate control and mitigation measures, and elevating problems to a higher level of resolution when needed.
  • Take responsibility for the safety and type testing of any system or subsystem for which you are in charge, as well as for confirming and validating its compliance. The team will examine and approve any reports produced in this regard.
