Position: Senior Survey Project Manager
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Duration: Fulltime permanent
Salary: DOE
Seeking a full-time Senior Survey Project Manager based in Chattanooga. This position is responsible for overseeing the planning and directing of project schedules for a variety of clients in the public and private sectors. This role requires staff management and leading proposal creation. The Senior Survey Project Manager will also engage with civil engineers, landscape architects, and other land surveyors to assist our clients in developing commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects.
Responsibilities
Utilize senior level knowledge of various equipment, surveying and engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to supervise drawings and plans
Creating project work plans and staffing requirements for group
Lead proposal creation, project budgets, and schedule survey crews to ensure proper information is collected
Stay up to date on project timelines and workflow
Provide QA/QC and peer review of surveys
Oversee control, boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, construction, and other surveying projects
Supervise CAD standards for employees, subcontractors, and field crews
Work with other departments to smoothly orchestrate large multi-discipline projects
Maintain strong relationships with clients and participate actively in business development
Develop project support staff and directly manage PMs as a senior group leader
Oversee full project lifecycle, including financial objectives
Additional related duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Professional Land Surveyor license in Tennessee
Associate or Bachelors Degree in Survey, Geomatics, GIS, or a related field
15+ years of related office experience of progressive office experience in Surveying
Experience with contracts, negotiations, budgets and estimating
Leadership skills to manage and support staff for multi-disciplinary projects
Comprehensive knowledge of surveying fundamentals, principles, and equipment operations
Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Familiar with Trimble equipment and Trimble Business Center
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail with strong problem solving and analytical skills
Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities
Effective internal and external communication
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient with GEOPAK, MicroStation, and OpenRoads
Experience with LiDAR capabilities such as 3D laser scanning and point cloud registration
